McAllen, TX - In April 2015 HHSC awarded SAMES a construction contract for conversion of the former medical transportation area into four 800 Sq. Ft. training rooms.


Scope of work consisted of demolition, electrical modifications, painting, doors and flooring.  Demolition included removal of walls, studs, sheetrock, electrical and insulation as well as disposal of all existing VCT, carpet, cove base and ceiling tiles.  All doors and entry ways were relocated, and walls were painted an HHSC Agency specified color.


Modifications to the HVAC system included re-routing duct work, the relocation of thermostats and system balancing.  The wall build-out and ceiling adjustments required relocation of multiple sprinkler heads throughout the entire remodel area. 


SAMES obtained all necessary building alteration and demolition permits before commencing construction. The building passed final inspection in September 2015 and received the official Certificate of Occupancy in October 2015.
