HURRICANE HARVEY RECOVERY EFFORTS
Houston, TX and Surrounding Areas - Recovery efforts for areas severely affected by Hurricane Harvey were led by the Texas General Land Office (TxGLO) in conjunction with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). As an awarded subcontractor to the prime, Witt O’Brien, the SAMES team provided initial, interim and final home construction inspection services in accordance with the FEMA fact sheet titled DR-4332 Texas Permanent Housing Construction repair (PHC) and the Direct Housing PHC checklist.
Our services include visual inspections, photographic documentation, preparation of scoping reports and cost estimates using required software, and the execution of documentation such as the right of entry/ingress/egress form, homeowner agreement, signed DOB form and FEMA structure form with photographs.
In addition to these services, SAMES also performed Mobile Housing Unit site assessment surveys, construction completion inspections and occupancy inspections. During the performance of these services our team of inspectors were tasked with providing all documentation required of FEMA to verify housing facilities for approved occupants.
SAMES' experience with the TxGLO Hurricane Dolly/Ike Disaster Recovery Program from 2008 prepared our staff to readily address the program's stringent requirements and meet the General Land Office's expectations.
